4 Fun Spring Activities You Can Drive to Near Hillsboro, OR

1. Community Spring Plant Swap

It’s time to socialize with some other gardeners at the community spring plant swap. Come downtown to 233 E Washington St on April 30th between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Bring your starts, outdoor plants, houseplants, seeds, and anything else plant related you feel like sharing. Many also bring snacks to share at this event.

This is an opportunity to swap plants for something new and meet some new friends. This event is becoming so popular they may do another one soon. Keep your ears open while you’re there for the next possible date.

2. The Westside Community & Youth Orchestra Spring Concert

Head on over to 494 East Main St on May 5th at 7:30 pm for a youth concert. The show is free and open to the public, though they do accept donations. The spring concert series features players as young as 8 years old up to 80 years old.

3. Cornhole Tournament for Veterans

This spring, our local US Military Veterans are getting together for a cornhole tournament. The event is taking place on Saturday, April 29th from 12 pm to 3 pm. It’s free to enter for both veterans and their family members and will involve teams of two.

There will be prizes for the winners and family activities including free hot dogs and popcorn. The event is taking place at 285 West Main St.

4. Opening Day at the Downtown Farmer’s Market

Spring is here and it’s finally time for the downtown farmer’s market to kick back into action. You won’t want to miss the opening day on April 29th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come stroll ​at 150 E Main St and visit the farmers and arts and crafts vendors we’ve been missing all winter. ​

You can expect to enjoy live music and interactive programs while you shop. ​You’re welcome to ​bring your dogs to walk with you at this location.
