Stroll through Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve at 2600 SW Hillsboro Highway, and you’ll have a chance to spot one of the region’s most exciting birds: Great Blue Herons. Sharp-eyed visitors could also see bald eagles and a variety of different shorebirds. Plenty of birds are around any time of year, but they are particularly noticeable during fall when many birds migrate to the area.

4. Rood Bridge Park

Rood Bridge Park, at 4000 SE Rood Bridge Road, is a favorite Hillsboro haunt for bird spotting. There are various creatures here, including vultures, ravens, chickadees, robins, wrens, and thrushes. Plus, the park is full of lovely walkable green spaces and trees, and it sits against the Tualatin River, so you can enjoy a day of kayaking or relaxing by the banks after spotting some beautiful birds.
